In Berlin you can enjoy yourself in so many different ways. The city is full of international people and a lot of creative minds. So many like-minded people to connect with, a lot of opportunities, possibilities, cozy places, unique shops, parks, bars, countless restaurants, cafes and so many things to explore here that you won’t have extra time for cooking, trust me! But heeey, no big deal in Germany´s capital. Therefore, I have summarized my favorite spots to have literally a cultural food explosion within THE BIG BERLIN FOOD GUIDE 2019.
There is just such a huge variety of food, tasty and creative drinks, fresh smoothies, juices and so much more out there. You will find dishes from every culture in the world and your taste buds will surely explode. On top to that you can easily cowork in one of those cozy little cafes and build up your private or business network, while getting your work done.
First of all, let’s talk about this incredibly good Asian food here in Berlin. I am sure a lot of you know that the Asian cuisine is one of the best ones in the world. They usually use so many herbs, spices and lot of plants and vegetables to spoil our taste buds.
ASIAN FOOD
I can warmly recommend the Vietnamese kitchen. One of my favorite spots is definitely Restaurant 51, where you can find a various number of tasteful dishes. Besides the main courses, which include meat or fish, they offer a lot of vegan dishes, for example with jackfruit. You can also get different kind of soups, tapas and tasty desserts. The food is super fresh and sooo delicious. Better don’t leave Berlin without visiting Restaurant 51!
The second restaurant I am going to recommend is called Chutnify. It is a beautiful Indian restaurant and offers a modern but at the same time traditional atmosphere. The dishes you can get in different levels of spiciness and the Masala is definitely one of my favorite dishes there.
Cá Phê 13 is a very cozy Asian cafe where you can relax in a cozy atmosphere. They definitely pay attention to the details and you can experience that with all your senses. Beginning with the lovely decoration, the small tables up to the delicious and tasteful drinks and food. Everything here guarantees a super comfortable feeling and a feel-like-home ambience. And you should try the Crepes, teas and different sorts of cakes. Soooo yummy!
Another amazing restaurant that I don´t want to hide from you is Ryu. It is an Asian fusion restaurant, what means that you will find a mixture of different Asian tastes. The interior of this restaurant is just so inviting, the food is delicious and you feel very warmly welcomed there.
Super good is also the Japanese restaurant Marubi Ramen, who offer homemade Ramen (a typical Japanese noodle soup) and delicious Gyoza (a Japanese dumpling). You can find them in Prenzlauer Berg, Berlin Mitte and Berlin Wilmersdorf.
At least once you need to go to Gloryduck in Friedrichshain, when being in Berlin. There you will find a big selection of different tasty dishes and especially for duck lovers, it´s like paradise! Near to Gloryduck there are many bars and cafes, so you can have a funny night out after a good dinner with friends.
Last but not least, I want to recommend you to go to Passion Asian Kitchen, which offers high quality food and an outstanding service in a modern and welcoming setting. All meals are prepared with the extra portion love for the details and are an absolute eye catcher. We got even surprised by the chef with some free appetizers on top to what we have ordered and the staff was super friendly. Definitely my number one favorite Asian restaurant now in Berlin!!
SPANISH/LATIN FOOD & TAPAS BARS
As you might know already, I am an absolute Spain fan. Especially Ibiza has my heart!! There I always eat tapas and paella, but in Germany it is quite hard to find good places to eat Spanish. Happily I found some recommendable spots in Berlin, like Tapitas, near the Mauerpark here in Berlin. With lots of candles and typical Spanish flair it creates a super cozy atmosphere and you can enjoy some relaxed hours here with a good wine, delicious Tapas and family and friends.
On top to that, the AndaluZia Restaurant at Gleimkiez is a typical Mediterranean restaurant with a cordial atmosphere. Enjoy a romantic candlelight-dinner here with some awesome Spanish food like paella, tapas and fruity sangria. Sometimes they also offer authentic Flamenco shows to create the perfect Spain-moment.
El Burriquito is another Spanish restaurant that I can recommend. It has a vibrant atmosphere for those who don’t like or want a romantic atmosphere and a delicious selection of tapas, paella, main dishes with fish and meat, good wine and even live music.
Furthermore I highly want to recommend you the awesome Pisco Peru Restobar in Schöneberg, Berlin. This Peruvian Restaurant & Bar really surprised us with its insane good food and authentic atmosphere. The staff was extremely friendly and the seafood and steak just sooo tasty. For the starters we have ordered for example Duo de Causa Limena (mashed potato balls with Avocado, Pulpo and Scampi) and Causa Frita (fried mashed potato balls with Avocado and fresh Tuna), which are typical Peruvian starters and really something special to enjoy! You also need to try the Arroz con Mariscos (rice dish with seafood) and the Maracuja Sour, a special Pisco cocktail with a bit of cinnamon on top.
