Ibiza has so much more to offer than just the partys! Don´t get me wrong, I love the Ibiza nights that turn into days, but this island really got my heart because of its incredible nature and the hippie lifestyle. Within this blogpost, I will show you, how to spend the best Sunday you could have on the magical island! Therefore, you need to check out Cala Benirras, a wonderful bay in the north of Ibiza.
If you wanna see the other side of Ibiza with cultural experiences combined with magical nature, visiting that place is a must-do for you! What I am talking about is a pure nature dream: You’ll find a gorgeous beach there, crystal-clear water and hippie vibes; especially in the evenings! This super beautiful place is a calm, sheltered bay in the north of Ibiza and is called “Cala Benirras”.

How to spend a perfect day at Cala Benirras?
If you go there, you should spend your whole day at this lovely beach, so you won’t miss the best part of the day, namely the evening!
In the morning you might be lucky, having the beach for your own. Then you can enjoy the clear water and take a calm sunbath (it depends on the season, but from April till June and then again from September till October, it is quite chilled there). And of course – you shouldn’t forget to bring your snorkel! Surrounded by the cliffs, it´s just the perfect place to see the awesome, colourful underwater world of Ibiza with lots of fishes and stunning nature. And maybe you can say “hi” to Nemo and Dori.
Arround midday it is time to strengthen yourself in one of the cute little restaurants that are directly at the beach. For lunch you can have some typical mouth-watering Spanish food for example. You want to know what’s my favourite dish? I just love seafood – so a Spanish Paella is always a really good choice for me. Besides that, you’ll get some super yummy Tapas, like patatas bravas, Chorizo, Baguette with Aioli and loads more… then a refreshing Cerveza (beer) or homemade Sangria should not be missing.
The atmosphere at Cala Benirras is just magical and very romantic. This is THE place to be for breath-taking open-air weddings at the rocks with a perfect sea view. You will find the little wooden chairs for the wedding guests, if you walk on the right side on the beach up to the cliffs. It’s awesome, especially to experience a wonderful sundowner. But watch out: Last time, I literally crashed into a wedding ceremony without being invited :-).
But this wasn’t even the best! Now I have THE highlight of Cala Benirras for you!
I totally love sunsets with such a chilled and warm atmosphere. At Cala Benirras you don’t just watch the perfect sundowner over the sea – here it’s accompanied by hippie vibes and an open air music concert of drummers from all over the world. Every Sunday you’ll have the unique possibility to experience an other side if Ibiza with it´s relaxing summer vibes, stunning nature and great music at the beach.
Numerous hippies meet there at the evenings and beat improvised rhythms on their drums and bongos while the sun sets over the sea. People from all over the world dance and celebrate together into the night. Especially, in the end of summer season when the sky turns into violet colours, it’s an incredible spectacle and stunning sight! This is a great event, which can be quite crowded sometimes on a Sunday, but going there is still worth it. It is going to be epic, but better make sure you’re at the beach early enough to get the best views.
You wanna go to Cala Benirras, but don´t know how? Let me be your tour guide!
From San Miguel, you can reach Cala Benirras within 10 minutes driving. Starting from Playa d´en Bossa, it will be around 30 minutes by car. After a nice drive over the winding roads through pine-clad hills you arrive at Cala Benirras. If you come by car or scooter, there are two parking spots which you can use for free. From there you can take one of the free buses that take you down to the beach. If you go there between 1st of June till the end of September, the road to Cala Benirras will be closed as soon as the parking spaces are full. This will especially affect the Sundays when the drumming takes place. Then you can just easily take an official bus from San Antonio to the beach of Cala Benirras. But if you want to be guided, i can also show you the way. Feel free to contact me.
